Racing engines equipped with roller rocker arms should have the
flow of oil to the lifters restricted. This forces more oil to the
engine bearings where it's needed, and cuts horsepower losses caused
by oil windage.
B&B offers
two styles of Restrictor Kits for reducing the volume of oil that
is pumped to the engine's top end. Number 48000
(pictured) is a pair of precisely drilled aluminum restrictors which
simply replace the oil galley plugs at the rear of the block. Two
extra o-ring seals are included.
Number
48010 (pictured) and 48020 are precisely
drilled steel plugs which are screwed into threaded oil passages.
Oil restrictor kits are not for use with hydraulic lifters. |
